In Hebrew the definition of tikkun olam translates roughly into “repairing the world”. Over the years the concept of tikkun olam has been connected to the human responsibility for fixing what is wrong in the world, particularly in relation to social action and the pursuit of social justice. Based on the events of this past year, we could all use a little more of this concept. Meanwhile, here at Custom Logos we tend to stretch the definition of tikkun olam a little further, and define it as helping our neighbors and improving the community. While we are always on the lookout to do what we can locally we relish the opportunity to help our clients and vendors do the same. That opportunity came to us recently as our client Raley’s in northern California partnered and led an event to benefit the victims of the Sonoma County fires who had lost their homes. Kudos to Raley’s and all of the event sponsors who rallied their communities to provide victims with assorted apparel and gift certificates in their effort to repair the world.
