January 26th started the Chinese Year of the Ox. Those born under the Sign of the Ox are said to endure hardship without complaining. They are also believed to achieve prosperity through patience and hard work.
These characteristics of the Ox are fitting for what many of us are facing at present, both professionally and personally. While some businesses in America are collapsing under the burdens of unprecedented challenges, others are rising to their greatest heights.
Let us remember that adversity can be a force for positive change. To paraphrase the great entrepreneur, Henry J. Kaiser:
“Adversity is really opportunity dressed in work clothes.”
